Recent News
The recently-passed 2008 energy bill has a section banning incandescent light bulbs for traditional use. The phase-out will begin in 2012, with all incandescent gone by 2014. The bulbs will be replaced by LED and CFL bulbs.
In July 2010 federal law to promote energy efficiency will end the manufacture of the T12's magnetic ballast -- an electrical control device for fluorescent lights -- and in 2012 end production of the T12 bulb.
